By: Nicole Higginbotham Medical cost has always been a hot topic in the United States. Fortunately, for the residents of Omaha, Neb., there are options. Village Point Imaging, 302 North 168th Circle, offers Open MRIs, CTs, U/S to include 3-D and 4-D ultrasounds for a lower cost than most hospitals. They are also accredited by the American College of Radiology. This venue has been open for about five years and treats patients that are three and older. "We call it a one-stop shop," said Cheryl Andersen, Village Point Imaging center manager. "We are 50 percent cheaper than hospitals, and we offer same-day lab results, same day appointments, as well as results back quickly to the referring physician." Village Point Imaging also shows how much they care about their patients by providing a comfortable, stress-free environment. "We try to make it a spa-like environment," said Andersen. We want the patients to feel at ease, and know we are there to help make it a good experience for them. There are cookies, juice, tea and magazines available to patients while they wait. "Also, we have open MRI, CT and ultrasound sessions," said Andersen. MRIs are also performed on a table instead of in a tube, which makes it easier for patients that are claustrophobic or just uncomfortable having an MRI done in a traditional tube. Village Point Imaging also offers Care Credit payment plans for people without health insurance. This enables patients six to 12 months to pay back their medical bills without being charged interest. "We want patients to know they have a choice for their health care," said Andersen. It's important for patients to know they have a choice where to go for their imaging needs. Though patients must be recommended to this venue by their physicians, Andersen encourages patients to look into Village Point Imaging for more personalized care. Appointments can be made 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday-Friday and on Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon.
